WHAT IS FAFSA?
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is a form completed by current and prospective college students in the United States to determine their eligibility for student financial aid. It needs to be completed yearly to receive aid for school. It is your TOPS application, TOPS Tech Application, Pell Grant application, Student Loan application, and Work Study program application. Many colleges and technical schools require the FAFSA to be completed as part of their application process.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-2025 academic year became available on December 31, 2023. The FAFSA for the 2025-2026 school year will be available on or before December 1, 2024.
It's recommended to apply for the FAFSA as close to the opening date as possible, as there is more money available at the beginning of a new FAFSA cycle.
